Going to the Doctor

I moved to Little Rock on December 29, 2009. I had lived here from 1998-2005, and moved back to my hometown of Springfield, Illinois to attend school, and my sister was popping out all of these kids, so it seemed like the right thing to do at the time.

To make a three-year story short, there just aren't the job opportunities in Springfield, compared to a Metropolitan City like Little Rock, especially for what I do.

I have a huge "second family" here, in addition to the man I lived with for nearly three years.

Almost as soon as I moved here, I noticed that my left thigh immediately began to swell. Not the "mushy" kind of swelling, but it was absolutely solid. After awhile, it began to spread to my lower leg - until my left leg was two times the side of my right leg. This is no exaggeration.

I finally 'fessed up to my sister in an email one day that it was still swollen - after taking baths with epsom salts for a month. She immediately became a little..well...if you know my sister..."Herself" about it. She was horribly concerned that it was a blood clot.

Well, me...I had just got settled in this new job, and I was completely apprehensive about finding out that something was wrong, when everything seemed to be going right for me. Me & the man I used to live with were dating again, which we really had never done. The Community Theater where I perform had just announced their season, and I was extremely excited, and about to start to take voice lessons again to get my voice in shape. This was to be my "coming-back" audition. They are doing a few of my dream shows!

So, after my sister went all medical on me, I asked one of my best friends what she thought, and she told me to seek out the advice of one of our Theater Friends, who happened to be a Doctor.

He informed me that he, too, was very concerned that it could very well be a blood clot, but not matter what - it wasn't normal.

So, off to the ER I go...
